A bench warrant was issued yesterday for the owner of one Toledo tavern as the city continues to have growing pains enforcing its ban on smoking inside bars, restaurants, and other public places.

There must be an absence of "real" crime there. Jeez! One joins a private club to be with ones own kind! I think if I were an owner of a Private Club, I'd be lawyering up.
At this rate, they'll be coming after the Fraternal Organizations for smoking and gambling.

That's what "I" was wondering. Drive-by shootings......spousal abuse, child endangerment, drunks driving.....speeders......teens popping Estacy....robbery's....I guess catching the smoker's is at the top of their priority. Azzholes!

Already have in parts of MA. The new ban will allow those groups to have smoking as long as the local towns have not outlawed it in private clubs. As most have.

Good! The private golf course that was sued by the lesbian couple for not recognizing the non-member as a "spouse" lost, so maybe there is hope after all.

I didn't make it clear.
Even tho' the statewide ban allows KoC VFW to keep smoking, apparently if the local ordnance bans it, then there is some ambiguity in the law and the local law triumphs.
Slick, eh?

Let's see, tobacco and alcohol are still LEGAL substances for adults to consume and use.....
This is just crazy! Good luck to this tavern owner. I can't imagine a tavern being in business without smoking!
It is a smoking/drinking place for adults.
I don't see WHY anyone else cares what happens there.
